This award is designed to celebrate and reward the huge contribution that the public house contributes to local communities and the local economy. 

The winner of this award will be able to impress the judges with their provision of an environment to suit their customers – whether this is a trendy cocktail bar or a traditional pub – while also making sure they are adhering to the best practice standards of operation in their sector.

The judges will be looking for premises with appealing décor and ambience that offers a comfortable environment suitable to their target market clientele. 

This category will be judged by mystery drinkers who will be looking at:

• Décor and layout of the interior
• Ambience of the premises
• Customer care
  
• Evidence of appropriately trained staff
• Services
  
• Range of products available
• Hygiene & cleanliness
  
• Entertainment
• Appropriate levels of security
