Excitement Builds in Lead Up to Awards Ceremony

The excitement and anticipation surrounding the Greater Newry Area Business Awards Ceremony is palpable.  With 21 Business Awards to be announced on the 16 June at the year's most prestigious and glamorous regional networking event, businesses from throughout the region are hoping that they will be celebrating the win of a much coveted Greater Newry Area Business Award. 

Ms Orla Jackson, Chief Executive of Newry Chamber stated, 'Newry Chamber is delighted to, once again organise this biennial business awards competition, which has been a phenomenal success to date with hundreds of entries from businesses throughout the Greater Newry Area.  We are very much looking forward to announcing the winners and finalists at the Gala Awards Ceremony, which will be hosted by BBC's Karen Patterson, on the 16 June in the Canal Court Hotel'. 

'This competition will profile and showcase the very best that the Greater Newry Area business community has to offer.  This region is synonymous with entrepreneurship, ambition and business leadership.  Our local businesses constantly outperform their peers on a regional, national and global basis; this competition will recognise their outstanding achievements'.

Launch of the Greater Newry Area Business Awards 2010

Over 120 guests attended the launch of the Greater Newry Area Business Awards 2010 in Bellini's, Newry on Monday 12 April, hosted by BBC's Karen Patterson.

Speaking on behalf of event organisers of this biennial business awards competition, Dr Conor Patterson, President of Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade stated, 'We are proud to announce the launch of the Greater Newry Area Business Awards 2010.  This Business Awards competition will recognise the efforts made by businesses to promote Newry as a place synonymous with product quality, service and customer care'.

'If your business is a local independent or multi-national, trading as a manufacturer, retailer or service provider - whether it employs 2 or 200, with 18 award categories requiring nominations, there is ample opportunity to have your business recognised in this prestigious regional business awards competition.  This is a key time for Newry to put its best foot forward - to show its confidence in the best of its businesses and in the future of this great trading community'.

The Awards will be judged by independent adjudicators, 'Stakeholder Communications' and culminate in a Gala Awards Ceremony on the 16^th June 2010 in the Canal Court Hotel.
